Clemson Tigers Face Challenge in Recruiting Top LB Roman Igwebuike

Clemson Tigers are facing a challenging recruiting landscape as predictions indicate that linebacker Roman Igwebuike may commit to Notre Dame. As the official visit season comes to a close, many prospects are eager to finalize their decisions before their senior seasons begin. Igwebuike, a consensus four-star prospect and the Tigers' top remaining target at linebacker, is currently on an official visit with the Fighting Irish. According to On3's Mike Singer, the trend is leaning towards Notre Dame securing his commitment. The 220-pound linebacker from Chicago, Illinois, has been on Clemson's radar since early March when he included the Tigers in his top ten schools. Following an impressive visit during Clemson's annual Elite Retreat, he received an offer from the coaching staff. Igwebuike has since visited several other programs, including Michigan and Tennessee, and has set up official visits with Indiana, Missouri, and Notre Dame. With Clemson's chances dwindling, the Tigers are now focusing on securing R.J. Hudson as their final linebacker recruit for the 2027 class. Hudson is currently on an official visit in Tigertown and is expected to announce his commitment soon. The Clemson Tigers are looking to navigate this recruiting challenge as they aim to strengthen their roster for the upcoming seasons.
